SKIN-PREP, code 420200, is a liquid film-forming dressing that creates a protective film when applied to intact skin, reducing friction during the removal of tapes and films. It is also suitable for preparing skin attachment sites for drainage tubes, external catheters, surrounding ostomy sites, and adhesive dressings.
Additional details
- Enhances tape and film adhesion.
- Quick and easy to use with only one coat needed, reducing product usage per application.
- Easily removed with skin cleanser or soap and water, preventing unsanitary residue around the wound area.
- Applies effortlessly even on awkward areas like elbows, knees, and heels. Adapts to the skin's natural movement without cracking or peeling.
- Allows the skin to breathe, improving tape and film adhesion.
- May extend intervals between dressing changes.
- Pediatrician tested.
Indications:
- Apply as a coating to prepare the skin for adhesives.
- Provides a protective interface that may reduce friction during tape removal.
- Suitable for skin attachment sites such as drainage tubes, external catheters, surrounding ostomy sites, and other adhesive dressings.
- Effective as a skin protectant in sensitive stoma areas.
- May reduce irritation from contact with body wastes and stoma fluid.
- Forms a protective film on the skin, potentially reducing exposure to urine and feces.
- SKIN-PREP should only be used on intact skin.
Precautions:
- For external use only.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Avoid contact with eyes; in case of accidental contact, flush eyes well with water.
- Do not apply directly to open wounds or deep puncture wounds.
- Discontinue use if redness or other signs of irritation appear.
How to Use Skin Prep Protective Barrier Spray:
- Clean and dry skin before application.
- Apply a uniform coating over the entire area you wish to protect, such as around the stoma, under dressing, catheter site, etc.
- Allow SKIN-PREP to dry for approximately 30 seconds. Reapply to missed areas if needed after the initial application has dried.
- For maximum protection, an optional second coating can be applied and allowed to dry before covering the area with a dressing or adhesive product.
- Ensure that areas with skin folds or skin-to-skin contact are separated to allow the coating to dry thoroughly before returning to a normal position.
How to Remove Skin Prep Protective Barrier Spray:
- Removal of adhesive products may also remove SKIN-PREP, so reapplication is necessary each time adhesive products are changed.
- Removal of SKIN-PREP is not required before reapplication. Clean and dry the area, then apply fresh SKIN-PREP as directed.
